This seasonal program brings together the kindness of our community's congregations, businesses, families, and civic service groups to help low-income neighbors throughout Milwaukee County and Waukesha County.Donated goods, including gift cards for pharmacies and grocery stores, toiletries, linens, calendars, stationary, and gift items, are assembled into
packages which are then delivered in December to recipients’ homes. There are many ways to be involved with our Holiday Giving Program:Counting & Sorting: Help us count and sort through donated items received. Individuals or small groups can help starting in the end of November through the beginning of December. (M-F, 9:00am - 5:00pm)Packing Care Packages: Help pack 500 Holiday Giving Care Packages in one day! You can volunteer as an individual or in a small group.Handmade Craft Creator: Some of the best gifts inside our Holiday Giving care packages are crafts made by the community! We are requesting flat ornaments, bookmarks and door hangers to decorate our clients’ homes (keep in mind that half of our packages are sent in priority mail envelopes, so nothing to bulky). Please bring donations to the Eras office in early December.Donation Drive: Help fill our 500 Holiday Giving care packages by hosting a donation drive at your school, church or business! Items in need are: $10 Walgreens Gift Cards, $10 Pick-N-Save Gift Cards, $5 McDonald’s Gift Cards, Books of 20 Forever Postage Stamps, Thin Gripper Socks, decks of playing cards, and thin puzzle books (word search, cross word). We ask that items are thin so they fit in a priority mail envelope. Donations can be dropped off to the Eras office anytime and are due in early December.
